Dr. Sharon Knight began teaching Spanish at 小猪视频 in 2007, having previously obtained a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in Romance Languages. In addition to teaching language courses in Spanish, she also offers courses dealing with Spanish literature, history, and culture. Her area of specialization is early modern prose narrative, particularly the novels and short stories of Miguel de Cervantes.
Dr. Knight鈥檚 prior research has primarily dealt with geopolitics and islands. Her most recent publication, an essay entitled 鈥淗apsburgian Imperial Impulse in Cervantes鈥櫬
Persiles,鈥 was released in late 2009 in a collection of essays honoring Frank Dom铆nguez, a noted Jorge Manrique scholar.
Currently, Dr. Knight serves as the faculty advisor of the聽Spanish Club聽and Psi Eta, the PC chapter of聽Sigma Delta Pi聽鈥 the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.
